Joanna McDonough was born in Aldershot in 1967 and Studied Art & Design at Bretton Hall College, specializing in screen printing and lithography. She graduated in 1989 with BA (Hons) in Art & Design.
After a career in commercial printing Joanna worked at the National Glass Studio where her interest was re awakened and Joanna began painting, drawing and printing once more. Relocating to the Cairngorm Mountains in the Highland of Scotland, Joanna has set up her own print studio, and is now inspired by local wildlife and landscape surrounding the Speyside Distillery, the River Spey and the Cairngorms. Using silk screens she mono prints the background colours then using the traditional arts of pen and ink she creates unique one off wildlife drawings/prints.
